6 years ago today, a tiny bundle with a pink cap was placed in my arms. As I kissed her tiny cheeks, I prayed that no tears would fall upon them. I stroked her soft skin and prayed that no harm would ever come to it. I listened to her tiny voice and prayed that it would always tumble forth in laughter. In 6 years more tears have fallen than I could have imagined, more pain was inflicted than I could have dreamed and more sounds of heartbreak were uttered than I could stand. One thing I didn’t pray for, but she received….a heart big enough to withstand it, a soul strong enough to endure and a love for life to keep laughing. Happy 6th Birthday – Annie.
