A Blog’s Train of Thought

All Aboard!!! I am taking you on the train of thought for a blog post, or more correctly why I didn’t blog…

3am: startle awake to the sound of the dog attacking his chew toy. Stumble into kitchen for a glass of water and consider writing a post on things that go squeak in the night. Turn on computer and the light is much to bright for my sleep deprived eyes. Figure I will write about it at a much decent hour.

7am: Wake up and put a pot of coffee on. Check weather, news and other blogs. Remember that I had a fantastic blog post last night and log in to jot it down. While the cursor blinks I realize that I have no idea what that post was supposed to be about. Right when I receive my revelation concerning the post, child #1 wakes up and demands breakfast. Turn off computer.

9am: Child #1 practices writing her alphabet. On the wall. With permanent marker. Take pictures (not for memories but for her permanent record) think this would make a great blog post with pictures. Go to download camera and hear a crash from the living room. Run in fear.

10am: Children are playing quietly, log in to write down post. Wait, it’s too quiet…log off to discover that Child #2 has painted the walls with pudding. At least, I hope that is pudding.

11am: Lunchtime with PB&J sandwiches. Log in to blog while children are occupied and get hit in the back of the head by flying crust. Turn off computer.

1pm: Nap time. Bound to the computer with my freedom to finally get that blog out and get side tracked by reading someone else’s blog and following link after link into the black hole of blogginess.

2pm-8pm: This is just a blur of playing tag, coloring, play dough, temper tantrums, time outs and making dinner.

8pm: Bedtime. Body hurts. Crawl to bed. Will blog tomorrow. Must sleep. Groan.

    Love ya!

  2. I too have fallen into the “Black hole of blogginess.” Great term for that! The computer can be a real time drainer. Good for you for turning it off to spend time with your kids! Looking forward to pictures of pudding and marker on your walls!! I have Sharpie on my kitchen table.

  3. Ah, the joys of having kids.

Most importantly...what did you think? Do you have questions and concerns or request for a certain post?
