Today is “Things I Love Thursday” I crossed this blog post at The Diaper Diaries. Head on over there to see her wonderful post and links to others participating in “Things I Love Thursday”
The thing that I love today is a simple thing. A plain white terry cloth towel. Really there is nothing that I cherish use more on a daily basis. When I reach into the drawer to pull out another and find that I have used the last one, my mood crumbles, chaos ensues and the world tilts ever so slightly. I have no less than 70 and collect them like a Beanie Baby crazed woman. I am also that mom that has one sticking out of her back pocket and strategically placed around the house for those “need a towel” moments. I have even been known to keep them in my purse because who knows when it might come in handy.
The Terry Cloth towels missions
- Cleaning peanut butter stalagmites from the bottom of the coffee table.
- Claiming the Booger Prize offered to you in victory from your toddler.
- Quick fingerprint removal as you see your mother-in-law pull in the driveway (who neglected to use the give me 1 hour warning before visits rule)
- Muddy paw removal after the quick tackle at the back door before the pet makes it across the freshly washed kitchen floor.
- Cleaning the smears off the cherished DVD 2 seconds before the meltdown starts.
- Improvised cloth diapering when you reach into the diaper holder and realize that you someone forgot to pick some up at the last WalMart run.
- Bridal veil for the 3 year old. Goes perfectly with the toilet paper dress and cotton ball bridal bouquet.
- Hiding your face from your children who are screaming and terrorizing you in a lame attempt to disappear for a moment.
That’s the thing that I love today. What is yours?
