This morning I awoke to a child bouncing on my head, literally. It was 2 hours before I was supposed to be up, yet, I was OK with that. I then stumbled into the living room, kicked toys out of the way and popped a Veggie Tales Sing Along in the DVD player. Bug and I laid on the blanket and sang at the top of our lungs to Larry and his Silly Songs. Sometimes it feels like I am someone else. Who knew that laying in the floor, singing, would be so rewarding. It’s not about the perfectly kept house, the gourmet dinner, success at work…it’s about floor time. Where you enjoy the fun and innocence of your child. Seeing things through their eyes. No worries about schedules and appointments. Just being able to go with it and enjoy it. It’s all about talking into the play telephone for an hour straight just because it makes someone smile. It doesn’t matter that your hair is standing straight up and your breath stinks. You are someone that a child wants to spend time with, regardless.
