A Song For Sis

Alright, I searched song after song and finally decided to go with your favorite song of all time. I know I said I would not butcher “O Holy Night” but it just worked for me.

O HOLY NIGHT

O Holy Night! The kids are finally sleeping,
The t.v.’s on and I should be sweeping.
Long was the day of errands and play dates.
Telling my girls make-ups is not a debate.
A thrill of hope I have a new email,
Tomorrow I might shop and find a new sale.
I fall on my knees! I hear the kids’ loud voices!
Oh why are they awake, I really need a break;
Oh sleep, Go to sleep , Oh kids, go to sleep!

Oh sleep, Go to sleep , Oh kids, go to sleep

Ta-Da!!

*Edited to add…this song is just for fun. My sister is a wonderful mother who REALLY loves her kids (but don’t we all identify with needing a break from time to time)

  1. I love my song but after rereading your songs it sounds like I don’t like my kids. I hope that is not the perception that I give people. I love my babies very much, but it is just that… They are not babies anymore, so I don’t do all the holding and cuddling that we used to do. They are just more at a stage of freedom and self finding that I dont get to intervene as much anymore. Rarely kisses in front of friends are allowed and they are always going somewhere. I DO LOVE MY CHILDREN and I enjoy every good and bad day that we have, because it means just that.. I still have my babies. They are healthy, they are thriving and they still need me, just not as much.
