Yes, I took a small blogging break. It was not intentional, it just happened (kind of like the fact that I am sitting here eating cookie dough. I didn’t make it with the intention of eating it uncooked, it just happened) So what has been going on around here that has kept me occupied and off the computer? I sit here and scratch my head in hopes to find a tale to amuse you or some event that was entertaining enough to keep you glued to the screen, but I am coming up empty handed. So I glance at my calendar to see what activities I wrote down.
Grocery shopping – well, that is not very interesting unless you count the free food sample surfing that we always do.
Waiting on cable installation from 12pm-4pm – not adventurous enough unless you were like me watching the clock and doing a huge countdown when you saw that it was 3:55pm and the guy still hadn’t shown (there is a possibility of getting something for free when they are late!)
Mowing the lawn – now this was an adventure. I started mowing the lawn right as huge storm clouds were building and a tornado watch was issued. I raced the rain (and lost) while my husband counted lightning strikes and provided me with a time countdown on his fingers (from the front porch) as to how close the storm was. I was dogging that self-propel motor trying to finish in time and not become the news story for the night.
Dinner with my side of the family. This was totally fun and a welcome vacation from the usual house chores. We had a wonderful dinner of steaks and potatoes. It doesn’t get much better than that. Then we hiked upstairs with our swollen guts for some Wii workout. I got the thrill of my year when I was able to beat everyone (including my active pre-puberty niece) in hula hooping. These old hips still got it!
Vaccination and well visit check up for Belly – ugh, just ugh! When is going to the doctor fun at all? She took her shots like a champ (like she had a choice with me holding her down and all) and weighed a whopping 39.6lbs. Way over the 100% for 18 months. Hey what can I say, I have an overachiever in eating. Both my kids are advanced in their own little ways.
Of course laundry is written on every single day and I can never climb that mountain all the way to the top and put my flag on it. I have accepted this failure in my life.
Random picture of me and the girls (How much older until I can force them to smile for a picture?)

That’s about all from my calendar.
