Today is the best, best kind of day.

A day to laugh, giggle, snort, and play.

For years we have gathered around the books we know.

And imagined “Oh The Places You’ll Go.”

We’ve snickered as we tried to “Hop on Pop.”

And counted “Ten Apples Up On Top.”

We laughed as we loved our “Green Eggs and Ham.”

And memorized every line of the great Sam I Am.

We learned about “The Lorax,” “Zanzibar Buck Buck McFate,” and “Cindy Lou Who.”

Chortled at the antics of “The Cat In The Hat” and “Thing One and Thing Two.”

Today is the birthday of Dr. Seuss, his genius and his silly, non-sensical made-up words.

For without him we would have never known the Floob-Boober-Bab-Boober-Bubs and the Biffer-Baum Birds.
