Show Me Da Money!!!

I had an interesting email this morning. A company wanted me to review a product that I could offer to you. It was all about getting rich.

I did look at the website that was full of tricks, equations and thought provoking questions to guide you down this path of being filthy rich. It made it seem as though anyone could do it by following these few little steps and properly applying themselves. I’ll be honest though, the equations gave me a headache.

First of all, I will not ever recommend a product to you if I don’t 100% believe in the product or the company. So you will not receive a link to that company here or see a giveaway soon.

Secondly, let me give you some little tips to be rich (for free, of course)

  • 1.) Rent a super long drill and find oil in your backyard.
  • 2.) Invent a dryer that automatically folds your clothes and places them neatly in a basket when dry.
  • 3.)Marry the only living heir to an overpriced, “Trump”ed up business.

If none of those tips seem to be possible for you, then how about we not focus on getting rich quick but rather being financially secure.

  • 1.) If you don’t have the cash in your pocket, then you don’t get to buy it.
  • 2.) Live on less than you make.
  • 3.) Get rid of debt.

It’s really that easy. You don’t need super long scary equations to figure it out and you don’t need a 24 week series with some guy yelling at you about investing in copper and green beans to make it big!

That’s “My Opinion Monday!”

  1. Beware the “get rich” offerings! Having spent years (and a lot of money) on training and self development I can say your tips are more effective than most of the #$%^ I've paid for!Doing things that feel good, living a juicy life, enjoying the small moments…that's where the riches are!

  2. LOL There really is no way to get quick rich! i love your thoughts on this…please let me know if you ever come up with that dryer that folds. I'm buying in!

  3. I have a couple of very nice bridges that your readers might be interested in buying… 😉

  4. Great tips! JDaniel keeps digging in the backyard. He has yet to find oil. Found you on Mom Loop!

  5. I love this post and you're so right. I have a two year plan for getting out of debt, all debt (except my house) and I love it and I'm excited about it and it's easy. The trick – pay down debt, don't add to debt. What I find funny are the “if you're not making $30,000 a month, then call 555-1234” signs along the road. Or the poorly handwritten signs promising a solution to foreclosure.Stop with the short cuts! Working smart seems to be the best solution for me.

  6. Ain't that the dadgum truth?! I need to abide by the “if you don't have the cash in your pocket” adage a bit more. We're drowning right now. And it feels so yucky. The roof, the Mr.'s trip to Novastoopid Scotia. The hemorrhage of money hasn't stopped around here…and it must. SOON!!!

  7. too funny, i looked into renting that drill and the company said no. man i wanted to be rich

  8. yeah – get rich quick. Has that really worked out well for most people. I like your suggestions better and I didn't even need to make 4 easy payments of 59.95 each. Thanks

  9. LOL… I agree with you completely.I wanted to stop by and let you know that I have enjoyed coming back to your blog many times. So I have given you the Versatile Award and have put the link to your blog on my post. You can come and see it on my blog.Anne @

  10. If I had a dryer that did all that, I wouldn't care if I was rich. I would just be happy that the laundry was done!

  11. This isn't real? My 5 easy payments of $29.95 won't bring me riches? darn…;)

  12. Servicing your air conditioner frequently will preserve your energy costs down. The far better your air conditioning unit is running, the less resources it will use, thus, saving you moeny on energy bills. It is also wise to preserve your unit on a regular basis instead of pay large repair charges when it finally breaks down. A service call is very much cheaper than a replace the unit call. Most importantly...what did you think? Do you have questions and concerns or request for a certain post?
