It’s been a busy week since I last posted. It’s been a daily struggle with The Man’s mom with having her surgery. While she is finally resigned to have the surgery, she is putting it off. I don’t know when it will be scheduled and I am praying that it will all be in HIS timing and not hers. Please continue to pray for her health and that we (all the kids and in-laws) have the wisdom when talking to her.
I am now in the second trimester of this pregnancy and there is a new entry in the “Toe Report” I finally had to break down and buy some maternity clothes which is the best feeling a woman can have when shopping for clothes. It is one of the few times that you stand in the dressing room and not worry about an outfit making you look fat. You try on the outfit, critique yourself in the mirror/harsh lights and say “This shirt makes my belly look big – PERFECT – I’ll take it!”
Speaking of Belly. She is starting to potty train. While her success has not been real good at this time, the interest is there and that is half the battle.
While attempting potty training is a great idea, allowing her to have access to the toilet paper is not.
There is no blur in the corners of this picture showing big sister, because she had enough sense to run when she saw me turn the corner to discover “The Great TP Disaster” Being the great mom that I am, who always looks for blogging material teaching moments, I always photograph the evidence before they must stand trial.
The past several days, although busy in their own right, The Man took some time off from work and instead of thinking only of what he wanted to do, took the time to spoil me rotten. My favorite was a moment that occured at 3am when he woke me to surprise me with a treat I had asked for the previous day. Lemon pound cake, strawberries and whipped cream.
Yesterday we went to my sister’s house for a little down time. The girls have been spending quite a bit of time there while I have helped The Man with some of his work. Going to her house has been a wonderful bribe tool, assuring good behavior and cooperation from the little ones.
The beetle is Bug’s current pet and at least it doesn’t need to be walked or housebroken.
The Man and I will resume our Marriage Workbook tonight, so I hope to have a post about that later. Until then it was “all things great and small” catch up day.
